Today I had the pleasure of attending an International Women's Day celebration hosted by the Centre for Women in Business in Halifax. They had flown in the very talented Jodi Glover, Co-Founder and CEO of Real Tecq Inc. (www.realtech.ca). I absolutly loved Jodi's enthusiasm and and passion for not only the incredible company she has created and grown over the last nine years but also her astute understanding of the challenges women continue to face in gender equality, both inside and outside of the boardroom. She said the only way she could truly reach her professional potential she needed to be CEO of her own start-up. I understand why she feels that way, having walked in her shoes. Her hope is that in the future her children look back in disbelief that this was ever an issue. 

I hope all of you take an opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made in society in Western Canada and take the time to share your gratitude with the women in your life that inspire you. Happy International Women's Week!
