I am sure you can agree that as a working mom, balancing soccer practice and dance lessons, relationships with your kids, your husband, your friends and extended family, planning birthday parties, anniversaries and playdates, managing your business online and off…. You get frequently asked “how do you do it all”
As that busy mom, I can tell you straight up and for a fact…. We don’t.
We may forget little suzies cupcakes for school, our floors may be sticky and maybe romance is on the backburner, and that’s just today!
But we do get a lot done and I think the only way we can get thru each chaotic day of flipping back and forth between being a mommy, a wife, a sister, a social media expert, a sales distributor, a designer and even a spider killer (not often though and only when necessary) is through help.
Asking for help, accepting help, saying no and delegating. Running our life like a corporation, dealing with the must be done now and very important pile ; all the time, and then learning to stop.
Stop and enjoy the moments.
And those are usually the moments when people turn to us and ask… how do you do it all…
Thank you so much for posting this today.
My family is going through a medical crisis right now and I’ll be juggling kids, work, house and hubby’s recovery without any family in town.
As hard as it was to ask, I reached out to friends and the moms of my kids’ friends and the response has been amazing. Remembering that you don’t have to do it all, is an important lesson.
Smoke and mirrors, chilled white wine and good friends like you help get us through!
