Karina Birch – Co-Owner of Rocky Mountain Soap Company

 With a CEO at the helm and over 100 employees, Karina spends her time on directing the strategy, product development and brand of the company.  Karina Birch is co-owner of Rocky Mountain Soap Company. She and her husband, Cam, grew the company from $86,000 in sales to over $6 million.  Karina balances running a rapidly growing company with raising three rapidly growing children.

Rocky Mountain Soap has been on the Profit 100 and Alberta Ventures “Fastest Growing Companies”. Karina has been honored as an entrepreneur on the W100 list and she is an active member of EO (Entrepreneurs Organization).

Tara Slone – Co-Host Breakfast Television Show

 Tara Slone wakes up every morning bright and early to Co-Host Calgary’s Breakfast Television Show.  Joining the gang in 2010, Tara was no stranger to show biz having studied at Concordia University’s theatre performance program.  She has appeared in numerous television show and films and as forrmer lead singer of Joydrop..  After making it to the top 10 on the hit series Rockstar:INXS, Tara returned to performing and writing and released her solo album “Just look Pretty and Sing”.  

Before joining Breakfast Television in Calgary, Tara was one of the most recognizable faces in Toronto entertainment television as the host and producer of Inside Jam.  Tara and her fiancé Joe are proud parents to their daughter Audrey!

 

Childcare will be provided by Kids & Company. Childcare: Kids aged 0 – 12 years old are welcome. Listen to the speakers and engage in uninterrupted conversation while the children are supervised in a safe and fun area nearby. Babies aged 0 to 6 months (or older if you prefer) may choose to sit closer to Mom. An additional fee of $10.00 (plus GST) for the first child and $5.00 (plus GST) for each additional child will be charged for those requiring childcare (snacks included).
