Come and join our first event of 2011 on Friday, January 28th at Wild Wood (part of the lovely Amberwood Village Golf & Country Club), featuring two moms who really know how to score when it comes to balancing career and family. One mom holds a senior role within the corporate world of hockey…the other is a work-from-home mom whose goal is to build the largest network of hockey moms in the world!
Professionally minded Moms across Ottawa are connecting with each other through momcafé Ottawa. Sit back and relax while you enjoy a steaming latté, a light breakfast, and on-site childcare provided by In A Pinch childcare services. Enjoy the chance to meet, chat and network with other educated, savvy Ottawa moms. You could also be a winner of one of our fun doorprizes and of course every mom gets to go home with a gift bag full of goodies!

Erin’s passion, pride and dedication to the success of the Senators organization have fuelled her progression through increasingly senior positions since joining the team in 1996. As Executive VP, CFO and Alternate Governor, Erin is one of a three member executive team guiding the long-term direction of the organization, and is one of a handful of females in her position in the National Hockey League. Along with these responsibilities, Erin is committed to giving back to the community through board positions with both CHEO and Roger’s House, while balancing the demands of a very young family. Professional success, community involvement, and dedication to family — a true ‘hat trick’!
Theresa Dostaler Entrepreneur & Founder of Hockey Mom in Canada
Spending most evenings and weekends either watching her brother play hockey, or participating in figure skating, a sport she enjoyed for almost 20 years, Theresa has always been fascinated with rink culture in Canada. As the demands of career and family came along, Theresa felt herself growing professionally as she climbed the ladder, but stagnating spiritually. Facing the age-old challenge of managing a professional career while balancing a family of three young children, she left the safety of full-time employment to start her own home-based consulting business, Synergy Research and Evaluation Consulting. Enjoying this new-found freedom and the chance to express her creativity, Theresa then had an idea she couldn’t ignore and the website Hockey Mom in Canada was born. Aimed at connecting with other moms who share her fast-paced, hockey-filled lifestyle, Theresa’s dream is to create the largest network of Hockey Moms in the world, and where better to do this than in hockey-obsessed Canada?
Cost $29+HST members; $35+HST non-members. To become a member, click here. Childcare is available on-site but spaces are limited so register early! Kids aged 0-12 years old are welcome. Listen to the speakers and engage in uninterrupted conversation while the children are supervised in a safe and fun area nearby. Babies aged 0 to 6 months (or older if you prefer) may choose to sit closer to Mom. An additional fee of $10+HST for the first child and $5+HST for each additional child will be charged for those requiring childcare (snacks included).
