Bring your friends to the next momcafé event on Friday, January 28th, 2011 at Earls Calgary Westhills to hear how two inspired moms left the corporate world behind to pursue their passions! Sit back and relax while you enjoy a light breakfast, steaming latté and onsite childcare, while listening to this inspiring woman and connecting with other educated, savvy Calgary moms.

Sarah Deveau, Author and Entrepreneur, and Sundi Hoffman, Sales Rep turned Entrepreneur, will inspire you with their journey from corporate life to entrepreneurship. Both women have unique perspectives on babies, businesses and becoming your own boss!

If there’s anything entrepreneur Sarah Deveau embraces, it’s change. Deveau published her first book after graduating from the University of Calgary’s Communications program and recently self-published her second book, Money Smart Mom: Financially Fit Parenting (2010). Now at home with three daughters under the age of six, Sarah is building her work-from-home empire providing marketing consulting and corporate writing to businesses. Sarah writes for a number of publications including the Calgary Herald and Today’s Parent magazine, and is a Star Stylist with Stella & Dot.

Sundi Hoffman identified a need and decided to fill it.  She first started making non-slip barrettes in 2006 after her friend was having a hard time finding a solution to clipping back her daughter’s wispy hair. Now in over 300 stores across Canada and expanding into other markets throughout the world, Bugalug offers unique, functional, high-quality and stylish accessories to both boys and girls as well as exceptional customer service.  Sundi has two boys, ages 6 & 4 years old, and juggles her role as an entrepreneur with that of being an active Mom with the help of a strong cup of tea in the mornings. She admits it is not always easy and is prepared to tell her story.

Childcare will be provided. Childcare: Kids aged 0 – 12 years old are welcome. Listen to the speakers and engage in uninterrupted conversation while the children are supervised in a safe and fun area nearby. Babies aged 0 to 6 months (or older if you prefer) may choose to sit closer to Mom. An additional fee of $10.00 (plus HST) for the first child and $5.00 (plus HST) for each additional child will be charged for those requiring childcare (snacks included).
