I feel as my heart has broken a little bit over this last weekend. It is one of those bittersweet moments. My middle child who is two and a half has given up his suckies.  In our house the suckie fairy takes away the old suckies for little babies who need them and in return for such a grand gesture, leaves behind a little present. We have been talking about this for months now, and on Friday he decided it was time. He asked for an envelope to put the suckies in and then went to his room to collect them all. He then grabbed a piece of paper and wrote his letter to the suckie fairy (blue scribbles). Thats it - he was done. Friday night a rocket ship replaced an envelope of suckies and he aged immensely in mind. I find it astonishing how he can make a decision of such magnitude and own it (when most days he can't decide what he wants for dinner!). He hasn't looked back, but I am, missing my little baby boy who is now so big.
