A reason to dance!

14 May 2012 | By tri-cities in blog | 8 Comments

I have spent 31 months being pregnant, plus another 35 months nursing children, and probably another year recovering from nursing children and being pregnant.  To say I deserve a girl’s night out is an understatement.

For some reason when I was `youthful` we went to a lot of weddings. I don’t know if we had a lot of cousins, or people who thought they were, but we always seemed to be scarfing buffet dinners, eating candied almonds and shaking our booty to the chicken dance, or monymonie…  it was pretty awesome

It has been years… and years since my last wedding. Since I was last able to dance in a non-nightclub setting, without the worry of some strange man,  who does not notice the glinting ring on my finger, or my complete lack of interest in him, grabbing my ass.  And I feel my groove thing needing a chance to break loose!

I mean, we are dancing in our house. We shake it pretty hard as the diaper clad two year old shows us his moves to LMFAO, or the girls adorn themselves with costume jewelry and delicately dance their way through the classics.  But somehow, me dancing in the living room in my pajama`s just isn’t giving me the release I am looking for.

But I have found a way!

We are actively supporting the as they pull together their inaugural hip shaking, red carpet event in Coquitlam.  With multiple speakers, exhibitors, cocktails and appies, this is a ladies night of little black dresses and (possibly) some table dancing… if you are on our side of the room!

In support of the Tri-cities Transition House and , this fundraising event is bringing out the best the Tri-cities has to offer… fabulous women coming together in great style for an amazing cause!

Comment below to be entered to WIN a pair of tickets ($100 value) to the GLOW event! (Draw will take place on Tuesday May 22) For more information, please check their website.

I too have been limited to booty shaking with my 20 month old in the living room! Having very few options for babysitting means I have had very few nigths out in the past 20 months.Would love a chance to get out for an evening (and wear something that doesn’t have sticky finger marks on it!)

Well when you put it like that , this event seems like a definite go-to this year! And booty-shaking with Jules on the tables could be a lot of fun :)

Just had my first child, a boy 6 1/2 months ago.

Haven’t had the chance to actually get dressed up and go out this whole time as hubby works two jobs so I kind of feel like a single mom sometimes.

Started suffering from a little post partum depression so a night like this would really lift my spirits-I would bring my very hard working and deserving mom! :)

Friends seem to have kind of gone to the wayside since Ive had a baby!
