Autumn – A Great Time for Change

05 September 2011 | By amanda_wamsteeker in Uncategorized | 1 Comment

Change is in the air.  The leaves are turning colour, children are anxiously gathering for the first day of school, and each morning is crisper than the one before.  I admit I prefer the warmth and casualness of the summer months, but the changing of the seasons greatly excites me.  Each new season brings the sense of newness, planning, and transformation I crave.  Deep inside me, and I believe all of us, is a deeply rooted sensitivity to the changing of the seasons and what it means for our world.

This year, I am determined to use this sense of a fresh, clean slate to inspire and motivate me, personally and in my businesses.  I have already taken advantage of these feelings (with the help of my husband) to clean our entire house, top to bottom, inside and out.  It feels so wonderful to be heading into winter tidy, clean, and fresh.  So with that done, I am ready to start doing the same tidying inside MYSELF…clear out the emotional cobwebs, organize the information clutter, and take inventory of any beliefs and activities that need repairing or replacing.  What a wonderful way to start a new season!

The excitement this new season brings can help you, too!  Take advantage of it to do some “spring” cleaning around your home and yard, make a detailed business plan for the next few months (or review and revise your current one), hire a mentor, life coach, or personal trainer.  Use this momentum to carry you through the “Christmas Rush” and keep your stress to a minimum.  Share with me how the changing of the seasons affects you!

Best Wishes,

Amanda

  1. I can really relate to that too. Having garage sales to clear out stuff as well. Starting new classes and events at the store. New merchandise for Xmas holidays. I know that summer is the highlight for me to connect with family and friends abroad, but there is something bittersweet about the return of cooler air and coloured leaves.

I know that it is the natural sign up time for all the community groups too. Girl Guides is another of my passions, and we love the women that come and volunteer their time with us….did I say also we have as much fun as the girls? A little shameless plug that we are looking for volunteers.

It is also the time of year that we take what we have learned, harvest it, and prepare to go inward. Great post.
