As the famous holiday song says, it IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas! The white
stuff is on the ground, parking spaces at the malls are non-existent, and inflatable Santa’s are decorating every second house on the block. It is hard not to get excited about the holidays. For those of us with children, we get to relive our childhood memories every time the kids ooohh and aaahh over the lights, help pick out a gift for Grandma, or decorate a gingerbread house. It is also a time when we can be a little more child-like and safely act a bit giddier, show appreciation for the special people in our lives, and yes, eat way too many cookies.
Christmas is a holiday I look forward to 364 days of the year and my excitement towards the season is only growing now that I have children. I love watching my children squeal with excitement at a beautifully decorated tree, at the wonder in their eyes when they see some stunning light display, or jump up and down when they see wrapped parcels. I believe this innocence and enthusiasm of children is something this world needs more of. Who wouldn’t want to get up in the morning and cheer and jump around just because they are alive! My wish and dream is for each of us to feel this happiness all year round, not just at this holiday season. Lets get up in the morning and be thankful we are here, getting a chance to see and do amazing things, and making wonderful friendships.
Wishing you and your family a very happy holiday and best wishes for 2012!
