Andrea TompkinsAndrea Tomkins Author of popular parenting blog, a peek inside the fishbowl As a freelance writer, Andrea’s work has appeared in a range of print publications, both local and national. But it’s her presence on the web that has taken on a life of its own. Andrea started keeping a blog when her daughter was born in 1999. Since then she’s made multiple appearances on CTV and on CBC radio to talk about blogging, and her website – a peek inside the fishbowl – has been recognized by publications such as Reader’s Digest International, Chatelaine, Canadian Family Magazine, the Toronto Star and the Ottawa Citizen. Andrea writes for Savvymom.ca and is a board member of the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa Charitable Foundation.  She is also a spokesmom for the Champlain Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Network’s Know More Do More campaign, and has recently co-created an information-sharing event called the Ottawa Brain Drain so that more people can learn about blogging and social media. Andrea is a mother of two girls, aged 11 and 9.
