Join momcafé HALIFAX on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 9am to 11am at beautiful Glen Arbour Golf Course on the Hammonds Plains Road to hear how two amazing local moms are at the top of their game!

Sit back and relax while you enjoy a light breakfast overlooking the golf course, steaming latté, the exclusive signature momcafé biscotti called “The Inspired MOMosa” by The Naughty Cookie Company and on-site childcare provided by Kids & Company, while listening to these inspiring women and connecting with other educated, savvy Halifax moms. A portion of this event’s proceeds will go to Dress for Success Halifax.Of course there will be great door prizes and Swag Bags!

Golf Pro KerryMaher was born and raised in Bathurst, NB and began her golf career at 7 years old. She made the NB Golf Team when she was14, and continued to represent N.B. until she was 18. She was ranked as the best 15 year old female golfer inCanada. After graduating from UNB with her Bachelor of Business Degree, shedecided to pursue her golf career. She worked at the Mississauga Golf and Country Club in Ontario for 3years, where she trained and became certified as a CPGA Golf Professional. She moved to Grand Cayman in 1999 towork at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman, as a teaching professional. After 7 years in the Caribbean, shemoved back to Canada with her husband and 3 boys to be closer to family. Sheplayed on the Canadian BMO golf tour in 2004 and 2005. Since moving back to Halifax, she hasbeen working at developing her own business, of teaching golf. Her line when asked about her career,“golf is my passion, and teaching golf is not work for me, staying at home with3 little boys is the hardest “work”, I will everdo”.


For 12 years, Wendy McCallum, founder of the Halifax-based company Simple Balance Consulting, practiced Corporate/Commercial Litigation at a very busy firm in Calgary, Alberta, eventually becoming a Partner. In 2008, she took the plunge, left her career and home in Calgary and moved back to Halifax with her husband and two young children with the dream of a simpler, more balanced life.  After graduating from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, where she received her RHN (Registered Holistic Nutritionist) designation, she realized her passion and talents lay in helping other busy people achieve the same. Wendy offers a personalized approach to nutrition, lifestyle, and wellness based on a “simple is better” philosophy, with a focus on whole foods, basic nutritional principles, and simple and gradual lifestyle changes.  By creating individualized plans, she helps busy moms reach their personal goals and improve their family’s diet and overall wellness.


Childcare will be provided by Kids & Company. Childcare: Kids aged 0 – 12 years old are welcome. Listen to the speakers and engage in uninterrupted conversation while the children are supervised in a safe and fun area nearby. Babies aged 0 to 6 months (or older if you prefer) may choose to sit closer to Mom. An additional fee of $10.00 (plus HST) for the first child and $5.00 (plus HST) for each additional child will be charged for those requiring childcare (snacks included).
