It’s happened again. Just like that. Poof. Time has vanished. I’m not positive, but I’m currently researching a possible correlation between time and the acceleration of time après children (or après thirty). Father Time has a way of warping my Mommy brain’s ability to keep chronological time.
Regardless of how I got here, I’m at the start of a new year. And I couldn’t be happier. I love the new year! So much promise lay ahead. A brand new calendar awaits.
The end of the year is for reflecting. The beginning of the year is for planning. And you bet your booty resolutions are part of the plan. So, without further ado, my resolutions:
Be happy. Sometimes this is easier said than done. In the midst of the chaos of balancing kids, marriage, work, home, and life, happiness can be elusive if we don’t focus on it. I choose happy.
Be present. With my kids. My husband. My family. My friends. My coworkers. My customers. Multi tasking is a beautiful thing, but not as beautiful as giving people my undivided attention.
Be healthy. Put. The. Diet. Coke. Down. Pick up that water bottle and get moving. I have three little people that need me to live a long and healthy life.
Be amazed. Life is amazing. Take the time to realize that (my kids taught me this one).
2012 is going to be a great year. I can feel it. And even if I fail miserably to achieve all of my resolutions, I can at the very least safely achieve my eldest’s resolution for 2012 – to have another birthday.
